Emergencies are unexpected. That is why they have that name. The emergency evacuations in California are a good example. In our area, hurricanes likely represent the biggest danger. When people are asked to leave in a hurry, they do not always have a plan. There are multiple suggestions about how to plan. However, they tend to stay in the back of our mind. St. Philip’s Church hosts Bishop Kevin Brown

The parish community of St. Philip’s Church in Laurel, 600 S. Central Ave., will host a visit by Episcopal bishop, Bishop Kevin Brown, this Sunday, Feb. 9, at 9:30 a.m. During his annual visit, Bishop Brown will deliver the sermon and will also celebrate the Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation of five St. Philip’s members.   The celebration will follow with a bountiful coffee hour and fellowship in the parish house, just adjacent to St. Philip’s Church.  All community members are welcome to join out in this festive celebration of faith, community, and fellowship.
