Roger W. Quillen, of Seaford, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026. He was born in 1934 in Roxana to the late Walter and Edna (Hudson) Quillen.

Roger was a graduate of Selbyville High School, class of 1951. A hardworking and dedicated man, he spent more than 40 years working for DuPont as an Instrument Mechanic. He also proudly served his country in the National Guard for eight years, achieving the rank of Tank Captain. Roger was known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. He was a true handyman who enjoyed working around the house and fixing just about anything.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling across the United States and Canada. He enjoyed camping, visiting the Kentucky racetrack, visiting the Appalachian Mountains, and spending time at Graceland. He was an avid reader and treasured time spent with his family. Those who knew him remember him as a direct, but soft-spoken, kindhearted, mild-mannered, caring, and dependable man.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Quillen.

He is survived by his son, Alan M. Quillen (Debbie Quillen); his sister, Lois Davis (Jim Sturgis); his grandson, Justin Quillen (Ashley); and his great-grandchildren, Brady, Wyatt, and Ryleigh. He is also survived by two nieces and other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Roger will be remembered for his dedication to family, service to his country, strong work ethic, and the quiet kindness he showed throughout his life. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 12 at 11 a.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment to follow the service at 12:30 p.m. at Odd Fellows Cemetery, 514 3rd Street, Seaford, DE.
