  • Graci King, left, and Angel Chavez-Santos, right, are the Seaford School District’s 2025 Secretary of Education Scholars. Also pictured is Dr. Susan Harrison, principal of Seaford High School. King is the daughter of Michael and Sandra King of Seaford. Graci is ranked second in her class with a weighted GPA of 103.83. She is Student Government vice president, Key Club secretary, soccer team head manager and a member of National Honor Society. She has also participated in dance for 12 years and plans to study environmental biology at Salisbury University and aspires to be a wildlife biologist. Chavez-Santos is the son of Elvira Santos-Lopez and Saul Mendez of Seaford. Angel ranks first in his class with a weighted GPA of 104.47. He has participated in soccer all four years in high school, was a RYLA participant and is a member of National Honor Society. Angel plans to study Biology at the University of Tampa and aspires to become an orthodontist. These students will be honored at the 2024 Secretary of Education Scholar recognition banquet in April.
  • Shown (not in order) are the Seaford Middle School students of the week for March 10-14: Manuel Barraza-Rubio, Kaylee Hare Purnell, Maico Chavez Martin, Keff Anna Pierre, Marquise Williams, and Harper Stanley.
  • On Thursday, March 13, students from Laurel, Sussex Central and Woodbridge high schools joined Christina High School and members of the Delaware Library Association in visiting the Delaware Legislative Hall to speak with their elected officials about public and school library funding. Some items discussed include the indefinite closure of the Seaford High School Library and the recent closures that have rocked the Seaford District Library.   • Shown (from left) are: Jeff Tull, Mike Layton, Dan Vanderwende, and Roger Hovermale. Tull, Vanderwende and Hovermale received Legion of Honor Awards for their combined over 100 years service to the Bridgeville and Greenwood communities. Layton, owner of H. C. Layton Hardware in Bridgeville, was awarded the Kiwanis Community Service Award. The awards were presented on the Bridgeville Kiwanis Club Charter Night on March 17.
