Edward Leroy Conaway of Laurel, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2020, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford surrounded by his loving family. 

He was born on March 3, 1939, a son of the late Catharine and Elwood Conaway. 

Leroy was a member of Shiloh Church, Odd Fellows Charity Lodge in Laurel, and the Army Reserves. He worked at Arrow Safety in Georgetown and NCR in Millsboro, and retired from Mitchell’s Furniture Store in Laurel. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Conaway; his son, Bob Conaway and his wife Starr; granddaughter, Samantha Passwaters and her husband Chad; great-granddaughters, Emma, Khloe and Hannah; sisters, Pat Foraker and her husband Curt, and Carolyn Watson; and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, Laurel. The Rev. Mark Erskine officiated. Interment was held in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. 

The Conaway family would like to express their deepest appreciation for the compassionate care Mr. Conaway and their family received.
