Mary K. King of Seaford passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, with her family by her side. Mary was born in Laurel on June 22, 1948, the daughter of the late George and Betty Hastings.
Mary loved to stay busy; she had many hobbies, her favorite was gardening, including inside and outside gardens. She loved to travel all over with her husband, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was a hard worker, she enjoyed farming with her husband where she did at least 60 percent of the work, she worked at Leggett’s Department Store in Seaford as a secretary, and she went on to work at Macke Corporation as a secretary as well.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty; her daughter, Polly L Poole; her sisters, Edith Wootten and Audrey Quillen; and her brother, George “Bud” Hastings.
Mary is survived by her husband of 61 years, Alan King; her daughter, Lisa King; her son, Randall King (Kim Ayers); her brother, Danny Hastings; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 1 p.m. with a public visitation from noon to 1 p.m. at Bethel Worship Center, 26648 Sussex Hwy, Seaford.
