Michael David Joseph of Blades passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026. He was born in Seaford on Dec. 19, 1955, the son of the late Russel and Etta Joseph.
Michael loved watching NASCAR, he was a big Jeff Gordon fan, and he enjoyed watching NFL football games every Sunday. He loved spending time with his family, he would take rides to the boat ramp and into the country with his companion, Mae.
Michael worked as a meat cutter for over 40 years, most recently at Food Lion in Bridgeville where he worked as both a meat cutter and market manager before retiring.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Etta Joseph, and two brothers, Ronnie Joseph and Russel Joseph II.
Michael is survived by his companion of 17 years, Alda “Mae” Goodwin; his son, Michael D Joseph II (Angie); his daughter, Angie Schafebook (Mark); five grandchildren, Kayden, Ally, Cameron, Zayden, and Courtney Allsworth (Greg); his stepson, Tommy King (Melanie); his stepdaughter, Lorita Bratten (James); his brothers, Bobbie Joseph and Chris Joseph; his sister, JoAnn Clayville; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A memorial service took place on Friday, March 27 at Greenwood Fire Hall.
