Richard F. Hammond passed away at home in Concord on March 17, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father George W. Hammond, Sr. of Newark and mother Aarlea Brooks.
He is survived by his daughters, Hope Hammond and Sarah Hammond both of Smyrna; his grandchildren by his daughter Hope, Fiona and Hunter; his three sisters, Cheryl Hill of Seaford, Barbara Porter of Smyrna, and Ida Mae Lake of Myrtle Beach, SC; and one brother, George W. Hammond (Jackie) of Wilmington. He is also survived by his nieces Angela Hill Jones of Seaford and Stephanie Porter Lear of Newark; nephew Charles Porter of Newark; and one great niece and four great nephews.
