Our dad, Woodrow L. Whaley, joined our mom Jaye Whaley in heaven on Sunday Dec. 11, 2022. Our loving dad gave us a wonderful life any child would be glad to have. He was a hardworking and trustworthy person who never seemed to meet a stranger. He was born in Laurel to the late Granville and Ruth Whaley.
Woody, as most people knew him, was retired from B&G Foods where he was a field manager. Woody also worked at Wm. B. Tilghman fertilizer and Cannon Foods as a salesman and field manager after serving in the National Guard where he was honorably discharged.
Woody is survived by his children Scott L. Whaley (Kimberly) and Kara Beth Whaley. He is also survived by grandchildren, Kristen Whaley, Kelsey Woods (Wesley), Katelin Whaley, Adam McGinnis and MaKenzie McMullen and great-grandchildren, Karrigan, Kenleigh, Lillian, Mia, Adalynn, Leland and Mayven.
In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his son, Craig Whaley. A viewing was held on Dec. 20, 2022 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
In honor of Mr. Woodrow Whaley, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
