Wilma Jeannette Theis of Delmar passed away on Oct. 8 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Dec. 5, 1938 in Moultrie, Ga., to the late Arrie and Annie Yeomans. Wilma enjoyed gardening, knitting, playing cards, watching western movies, going out to dinner, and taking RV trips with her late husband John. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and eating crabs, hosting barbeques, and “front porch living.” The simple pleasures in life gave her the most enjoyment. 

Wilma is survived by her children, John E. Theis II and his wife Maggie, Cindy T. Todd and her husband Blair, Sherry K. Theis, and Virginia L. Dean; grandchildren, Don Beideman II, Krystal Rose, Maribeth Theis, Hollie Delago, Chase Dean Jr., Jeremy Dean, Pamela Crowe, Kelly Miller, Hunter Dean, Brooke Smith, Will Theis, and Jade Theis; 23 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her furbaby “Buddy.” 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John E. Theis, grandson Steven Lausier, and her siblings, Stewart Yeomans, Jack Yeomans and Frank Yeomans. A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 13 from 6-7 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Interment will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, Oct. 14 at 11 a.m.
