Thomas “Tom” Pastula passed away on Sept. 11, 2022 at Regal Heights Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Hockessin, Del. He had suffered medical issues for many years and was under the excellent care of Vitas Hospice of Delaware.   

Tom was born at St. Alexis Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on March 7, 1941, to Joseph and Bernice Pastula. He lived in Ohio until 1976. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1963 where he met and married Elizabeth (Betty) Lane on Nov. 25, 1961. He worked as a printer for many years at Plastikote.  They have four wonderful children; Betsy Truby (husband Mike), Frannie Phillips (husband Larry), Trevor Pastula (wife Jamie) and Tracy Lee (husband Barry). 

Tom and Betty have several grandchildren; Eric Truby, Jordan Saliva, Zachary Phillips, Zoe Phillips, Richard Pastula, Sierra Pastula, Aubrey Pastula, Lizzie Pastula, Christian Pastula, Hannah Davis, Darby Sears and Madison Lee. They have two great-grandchildren; Kamryn Holland and Gonzo Salvia. They also have many nieces and nephews.

They moved to Delaware in August 1976, where he worked for several years at DuPont Plant in Seaford, until 1992. He spent several years working with Betty running their cake decorating business, House of Elizabeth.

Tom loved spending time with his parents and brothers. He also enjoyed music, animals, traveling and trying different restaurants.  He was extremely good with numbers and organization.  He will always be remembered for his ponytail and his shirts without sleeves that he loved to wear.  

Preceding him in death are his parents, Bernice and Joseph Pastula; two brothers, David Pastula, Danny Pastula; and sister-in-law Marianna Pastula.   

Services will be limited to immediate family. He will be cremated and sent to rest at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro.
