Sue Ann Howard of Laurel passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 17 at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. She was born, April 28, 1935 in Beckley, W,V. to the late Lawrence and Esther Daniels Hill. Sue graduated from Wicomico High School, class of 1954. She worked for former Dresser Wayne Industries and Maryland National Bank in Salisbury and for 20 years at Super Thrift in Seaford.

She enjoyed decorating her home for all the seasons and holidays. She cooked Sunday dinner for her family every weekend and made every holiday, birthday, anniversary, and sports event a big family celebration. Sue was a devoted wife to her late husband of 43 years, Philip W. Howard. He spent his last year at Life Care, Lofland Park in Seaford where she visited him two times each day to make him comfortable and feel loved. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She went to countless ball games, recitals, plays, and school programs.

She is survived by her children, Brian Howard (Angela), Seaford; Lori Groton (Dwayne), Laurel; Christy Howard, Laurel; and Richard Ginn (Marguerite), Peach Bottom, Pa.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Megan Dukes (Philip), Milton; Daniel Howard (Stephanie), Seaford; Aaron Howard (Nicole), Laurel; Emily Groton, Laurel; and her five great-grandchildren, Ava and Levi Dukes, Milton; Brianna Cardillo-Howard, Insley and Bristol Howard, Seaford.

She is also survived by a brother, Larry Hill (Pat), East New Market, Md., and a sister, Martha Carr (Jerry), Delmar, Del., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her late husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rose Hill, and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Ginn.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at 1 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where friends may visit from  noon to 1 p.m. Interment will follow at Mardela Cemetery.
