Stephen Ackerman Blocker of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 16, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Blocker, mother, Margaret Neview and daughter, Lana Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy, his son, Jason (Liza), his grandchildren Layla and Greyson, his sister Eugenia Givens, and his brothers, Charles (Donna) and Craig (Linda), as well as several nieces and nephews.
Steve was born in Milford, grew up in Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School in 1966. In 1978, he met and married the love of his life, Nancy Pilchard (Stewart), of Salisbury.
Steve worked hard all his life, being employed by numerous companies all over the country. However, his life’s work would be found in a profession quite familiar to the Blocker family. Like his father before him, he operated his own business installing, sanding and refinishing hardwood floors for over 40 years.
His free time was occupied by numerous activities over the years including bowling, billiards, hunting, and fishing. But none more so than fishing. There weren’t too many days that Steve would leave home without a fishing rod and tackle box somewhere tucked away in his truck. He loved the water and would almost never pass up the opportunity to “wet a line.”
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 29 at 10 a.m. at Bethel Worship Center in Seaford. All are welcome to come and share their memories of Steve with his family and friends.
