We are saddened by the passing of Rose Marie Carroll, on July 14, 2022, at the home of her family in Greenwood. Marie passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

 Marie was born on a farm in Greenwood on Feb. 26, 1928, to her parents Michael Malfitano and Elsie Malfitano (Smith), who preceded her in death.

She grew up with her siblings Doris Griffin (Malfitano) and Joseph Malfitano and her two sisters who preceded her in death: Loretta Pritchett (Malfitano) and Frances Arney (Malfitano).

Marie was a committed member of the Denton Wayside Church, serving as treasurer and a founding member. She was an avid florist working for many years at Owens Flower Shop and a cook serving the Woodbridge Elementary School cafeteria for 17 years. Marie was a lover of Dachshunds and left behind her beloved companion “Babe,” whom she loved spending all her time with and spoiling her rotten.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harry Edward Carroll (Nov. 2002) and her son Hugh Harry Carroll (Feb. 2016).

She leaves behind her beloved daughter Pamela Cannon (Carroll) and husband Robert Cannon; granddaughter Gina Anger (Wells) and husband Neil Anger; great-granddaughter Jenna Anger and Juliette Anger; devoted daughter-in-law Marjorie Carroll (Parker); granddaughter Abigail Carroll and husband Bruce Carrol;  great-granddaughter Aisling Carroll; granddaughter Angela Carroll and fiancé Daniel Ward Jr.; and great-grandsons Garrett Ward, Lane Baker, Eli Baker, and Seth Baker.

Funeral services were  held at Denton Wayside Church in Denton on Wednesday, July 20. Burial followed at Bloomery Cemetery in Smithville.

Services are entrusted to the Framptom Funeral Home-Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood.
