Vietnam veteran Ronald G. Marvil, Sr. of Seaford passed away March 29, 2022 at home with family by his side.

Ronald was born on Sept. 23, 1947 in Dover to the late Granville and late Evelyn Marvil.

Ron graduated in 1965 from Seaford Senior High School. Ronald served in the U.S. Army and was in the Vietnam war. Even though he was never known to speak of the war, you could tell he was proud to have served in the Army by the fact that he would not leave the house without his favorite Vietnam Veterans hat, which he was cremated wearing. He was a member of the American Legion, Nanticoke Post # 6 and a lifetime member of VFW, both of Seaford.

In his younger years he enjoyed his Mopar cars, surf fishing, camping and watching Nascar. Most recently he enjoyed his seven years of retirement.

Ronald worked as a printing pressman for the Seaford Leader, Sam’s Print Shop and Standard Register Company in Salisbury. He retired in 2014.

He is survived by his long-time girlfriend of 40 plus years, Christine Hartman. He is also survived by his sons, Ron Marvil, Jr. (Brenda) of Galestown and Pierre aka PG (Michelle) of Seaford; grandsons, Ryan (Masie) and Daniel Marvil; granddaughters Ella and Ava Marvil; great-grandson Mack Marvil; his brother Robert (Bob) Marvil (Dawn) of Laurel and their children Patrick (Amy) and Matthew (Abbey) of Laurel and their children Hunter, Copelin, Leiland, Averi and Claire; Chris’s daughters whom Ronald raised and treated as his own daughters, Rebecca Fish and Michelle Bailey (Richard); granddaughters, Diane Hartman, Tiara Patchett, Marilyn Partusch and Allison Partusch, Cheyenne Hartman; great-grandchildren Brandum Hartman and Adeline and two more on the way.

Services were held on Tuesday, April 5 at the Delaware Veteran’s Cemetery in Millsboro.
