Richard K. Kalinevitch of Greenwood passed away on Dec. 5, 2022 as the result of an automobile accident. 

He was born on April 5, 1939 in Hazelton, PA; the son of the late Nicholas Kalinevitch and Gladys Smith Kalinevitch.

He moved to Greenwood at a young age with his parents. He later graduated from Bridgeville High School with the class of 1957. There he met the former Barbara Morris. They were married in 1961 and made their home in Greenwood.

He worked as a machinist and millwright for various construction companies in Maryland and Delaware working in the Union.

In his free time, Richard loved to tinker, build and work in his garden. He enjoyed visiting with his friends and sharing produce from his garden.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Morris Kalinevitch of Greenwood; a sister Karen Kalinevitch of Greenwood; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Keel of Bridgeville and Betty Ann Warner of Greenwood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home – Fleischauer Chapel in Greenwood with Pastor Gregory Fleischauer officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m.

Richard was not a formal person and the family requests all in attendance to wear casual clothing.
