Polly L. King of Hurlock passed away on Aug. 20, 2022. Polly was born in Seaford to Alan and Mary King on Feb. 7, 1974.

For those who didn’t really “know” Polly, she was hard to understand but an angel once you knew her. She always had a complex, but also passionate, old soul. In her final days here with us in the flesh, she truly helped remind us all to be patient, caring, and understanding of others. She had recently lost one of her many close friends, Martin Savilla.

To a lot of us, Polly will be known as a caring, loving, outgoing mother, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, niece, and friend. To me (Phillip, her son), she will always be an irreplaceable guardian angel. She touched many of our lives with her ways of living life. No matter the situation, if you knew Polly, you knew that she was going to do whatever it was she wanted to do because she lived life HER WAY. She was always a free spirit, always has been, and always will be. Her true calling in life was to help veterans. She felt most at home and submerged in love when she was at “work.” But to her, it was a lifestyle and she had real determination to try to help veterans in any way possible. American Legion Post 6 (and many others) will always be a huge part of who Polly was. To her parents, Alan and Mary King especially, she was their “wild child.”

Polly Lynn King is survived by her loving children Alyssa Poole of Delmar, Scott Poole of Delmar, Phillip King (Mandi) of Seaford; her separated partner, Orville Poole of Delmar; her loving parents Alan and Mary King of Seaford; and her loving siblings Lisa Briddelle of Princess Anne, and Randy (Yetive) King of Powellville.

The woman we know as Polly will be carried on for years and never forgotten, August 20, 2022.

A celebration of life took place on Saturday, Aug. 27. In lieu of flowers, please send and make all donations out to American Legion Post 6.
