Phyllis Brown Murphy of Laurel passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Milford on Sept. 18, 1943 to the late Irving and Elizabeth Brown. Phyllis attended Harrington High School. She was married to Robert Murphy for 59 years.
Phyllis retired from Labcorp as a lab tech for over 27 years. She is survived by her husband, Robert Murphy; son, Bryan Murphy; daughter, Prudence Murphy; four grandchildren, Samantha Rivero, Zachary Murphy, June Blake and Taylor Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Ava Murphy and Willow Blake. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 4 from 1-2 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, 200 West Market Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be private. Pastor Dean Perdue will officiate.
