Phillip Wade “Phil” Scott of Springfield, TN lost his short battle with cancer and passed away with his loving wife Mellisa by his side on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at Centennial Hospital in Nashville, TN.

Phil was born on March 4, 1966 in Seaford to the late George W. Scott, Sr. and Sandra P. Scott.

Phil was preceded in death by his father, George W. Scott (Scotty); brother, George W. Scott, II; grandparents, Thomas and Olive Scott and Grant and Martha Perry.

Phil is survived by the love of his life, wife Mellisa Scott; mother, Sandra P. Scott; brother, Douglas W. Scott; stepdaughter, Erika McNeely (Richard); and grandchildren, Harper, and Owen as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

His love for horses guided him to a career wrangling in the west. His career choice gave him the opportunity to explore many new places including California, Arizona, Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming. Through all his travels he never left his truck “Hank” behind.

With his wife by his side he enjoyed camping and being in the outdoors.

After his travels out west he and wife Mellisa settled down in Springfield, TN to be closer to his stepdaughter and grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. And always remembered as a true cowboy.

As he rode into the sunset for his last ride, he requested there would be no services.
