Paul McMasters of Laurel passed away on Oct. 23, 2022 at his home in Laurel. He was born on Nov. 27, 1937 to the late Sheridan and Mary McMasters in Juneau, Pa.
Paul retired working as a store supervisor for Acme Market. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Paul enjoyed traveling with his family, surf fishing, snow skiing, bowling, playing pool, shuffleboard, and watching horse races in Harrington and Georgetown.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary “Midge” McMasters; children Michael Paul McMasters and his wife Lisa Hardy-McMasters, Wayne Eugene McMasters and his wife Jenaflor Soreno-McMasters, Sandra Johnson and her husband James Johnson; brother Darrel McMasters and his wife Jean; 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Penny Miller and her husband William Arno Miller; grandson Jackson McMasters; brothers Blair McMasters and his wife Joyce, Melvin McMasters and his wife Nancy; sisters Virginia Painter and her husband Blair, and Freda Miller and her husband Kenneth.
A visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Laurel. A funeral service followed with Reverend Dean Perdue officiating. Interment followed in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Mr. McMaster’s honor to the Good Samaritan Shop, PO Box 643, Laurel, Delaware 19956.
