Myrtle Marie Parsons-Spear of Laurel passed away on April 29, 2023 at Lifecare at Lofland Park. Born in Delmar, Md., she was the daughter of the late Reuben Parsons and Cora May Smith Parsons. Myrtle married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Spear, Sr. on July 12 and they were married for 68 years. She was a poultry grower with her husband.
Myrtle is survived by her daughters, Teresa Henry and her husband Steve, Donna Smart and her husband Rick; son, Robert W. Spear, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Maxine Lynch and her husband Jerry; grandchildren, Kathy Hill and her husband Randy, Doug Henry and his wife Michelle, Melissa Kiser and her husband Stan, Bobbie Joseph and her husband Brian, and Billie Davis; great-grandchildren, Justin Hill, Brittany Richardson, Victoria Henry, Ian Elder, Ethan Davis, Brianna Joseph, Brice Joseph, Isabella Kiser, Evan Kiser, and Alaina Kiser. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Spear, Sr.
A viewing was held on Monday, May 8 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel, followed by the funeral service with Pastor Joe Lecates. Interment followed in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
