Mary Louise Bull of Laurel passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022. She was born on April 13, 1935, daughter of the late John L. and Nora (Donovan) Ryan.

A native Delawarean, Mrs. Bull attended Laurel High School. She met the love of her life, Merritt Bull, and after they married, they started and raised their beautiful family in the heart of Sussex County. A hard-working woman, in addition to raising her family, Mrs. Bull held jobs outside the home, working for Woolworth’s, Ames, Save-a-Lot, and the Bread Store.

Her faith in God was the anchor in her life, and she enjoyed watching church services on tv, was a faithful member of the Stein Highway Church of God and enjoyed making baked goods for her church. She was a wonderful cook and one of her joys was making delicious meals for her family. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her and the time spent with them was very dear to her. Mrs. Bull was a kind, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bull was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Merritt Bull; her daughters, Mary Ellen and Belinda Star; and her siblings, Edward Ryan and Nora Lee Caudill. She is survived by her children, Eddie, William, and Barbara; her grandchildren, Scott, Mark, April, Erica, Ashley, Dylan, Lisa, and Megan; her 16 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Cathy Ryan Monk, Joyce Ann Ryan, Annabelle Lambert, Virginia Jenkins, Doris Calloway, and Ida Doyle; and her brother, Robert Ryan.

A viewing will be held on Monday, Oct. 31 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, 609 East King Street in Seaford. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 11 a.m. at Stein Highway Church of God, 425 E. Stein Highway, Seaford, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Springhill Memory Gardens, 27260 Ocean Gateway, Hebron, MD.
