Margaret F. Wootten of Seaford passed away peacefully on May 31, 2023. She was born on Feb. 16, 1931 in Roxanna to the late John and Elizabeth Flood.

Margaret worked as a librarian at the Seaford High School, she was very active with the AARP, and she was a member of the Seaford Historical Society and St. John’s United Methodist Church, as well as several Quilters Guilds. Her hobbies included sewing, quilting, knitting, and she was a voracious reader. Margaret also enjoyed traveling with her late husband as well as organizing trips for the local AARP.

She is survived by three sons, Ronald Wootten (Timothy Hamilton), Fred Wootten (Randy Paradine), and John Wootten (Bob Strack); one daughter, Martena Prentice (William); two grandchildren, Brian Prentice and Zachary Prentice (Megan); great-grandchild, Ruth Prentice; and a sister, Doris Brittingham (Wayne).

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Paul Wootten, as well as her parents John and Elizabeth Flood.

A private funeral service will be held at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro.
