M. Louise Parker passed away on March 5, 2022. She was born on Nov. 2, 1930, to Elmer and Abbie (Jones) Goldsborough in New Castle County. Louise was born on a dairy farm and milked cows and helped in the fields. She was like the boy in the family.

She had two sisters, Bea Robinson (May 2021) and Janet Goldsborough (August 2018), both preceded her in death. Louise graduated from Townsend High School. She was a part of the Agriculture Club, 4-H Club and played the piano well. Louise graduated from Beebe School of Nursing in Lewes. She met her husband, Bobby Parker, at the hospital when she was in training. He was in the Army at the time. They married Jan. 12, 1955 and lived in Seaford. Bobby preceded her in death in 1986.

They had two children, Bobby Parker Jr. (Pamela), grandson, Matthew Parker, who preceded her in death in August of 2021, Marjorie Carroll and granddaughters, Abigail Carroll (Bruce), and Angela Carroll (fiancé Danny), great-grandchildren, Aisling, Lane, Eli, Seth and Garrett.

Louise was very family oriented and hosted many wonderful gatherings in her home. She was the treasurer of TOPS, member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir. She loved playing Uno with friends and family and growing flowers in her yard.

Louise was a registered nurse for 38 years at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. She worked on disaster drills, completed extensive cardiac training and helicopter training for transfers. The last area she worked was the emergency room. Louise received many honors for her years of service.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, March 20 at 1 p.m. at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 2701 Woodland Ferry Rd., Seaford, where friends may call from 12 to 1. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
