Jeanette B. Davis of Seaford passed away peacefully on Oct. 22, 2023. She was born on Nov. 14, 1924, the daughter of the late Reese and Esther Brittingham.

Jeanette attended Goldey Beacom College and worked at DuPont for two and a half years while her husband served in World War II. Jeanette was a faithful follower of Jesus. She volunteered for over 50 years at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, as well as volunteering at the Manor House from the time it opened until just a few years ago. She also volunteered at St. John’s UMC in many different areas.

She was an avid card and game player, and she enjoyed traveling with her late husband Barney. Jeanette touched many lives and will always be remembered for her kindness, positive attitude, and sense of humor.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, James W. “Barney” Davis who passed away in 1998.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Cool, Donna German, Bev Martin (Rob), and Danny Davis (Nancy), as well as nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John’s UMC or Samaritan’s Purse.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Manor House for the dedicated and kind care given to Jeanette.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Manor House, 1001 Middleford Rd, Seaford, DE. The burial will be private.
