Janice L. Whaley of Laurel passed away Friday, July 21. Janice was born on Aug. 4, 1942 to Walter and Ethel Littleton. After Janice graduated from Laurel High School in 1960, she attended Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington.

Janice and Ron met on a blind date. They married in 1964. Janice and Ron went on to have two children, Russell and Chris.

Janice enjoyed typesetting during her career at the Seaford Leader. After retiring, she went on to work at Cullums Dress Shop in Georgetown.

Janice was an avid baker, loved a good Debbie Macomber book, threw thoughtful holiday parties, and had impeccable style.

Janice was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Ethel Littleton, and her son Chris Whaley. She is survived by her loving husband Ron, son Russell (Crystal), brother Walter Littleton Jr. (Arlene), grandchildren Lindsay, Chase, Brant, and Lera, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 26 at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. Pastor Larry Whaley officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Whaley’s honor to the Laurel Fire Department, 205 W. 10th St., Laurel, Delaware 19956.
