Janice C. Records of Laurel passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Oct. 5, 2022. She was born in Laurel on Jan. 22, 1940, daughter of the late Lonney and Evelyn Waller Conoway. Janice retired from the U.S. Postal service in 2004. She loved gardening, entertaining, and spending time with her family. Janice hosted the family Christmas dinner in her home for more than 40 years. Janice was especially known around the world for her amazing mac and cheese.

Janice is survived by her husband of 63 years, Stanley I. Records; daughter Lisa Records-King; son-in-law Jay King Jr.; son Chris Records and wife Krista Hastings Records; bonus daughter Karen Matthews (Tony); grandchildren, Heather Haddock (Jared), Marisa Valeski (Andrew), Holly Records, Jackson Records, Bryce Records, and Conor Matthews; great-grandchildren, J. J. and Jase Haddock; niece, Susan Henry-Jones; nephews, Kirk and Todd Henry; extended family, and lifelong friends, Carmella Lynch, Freddie and Louise Allen, and Janice Allen Messick (Eric).

A visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel, DE. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Reverend Dean Perdue will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.
