Helen Louise Hawkins (March 14, 1947 – February 26, 2023) of Bridgeville passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones after bravely battling cancer.

Helen was born in North Dorchester, Md. to her parents Sydney and Dottie (Marine) Andrews. She graduated from North Dorchester High School in 1965.

She never completely retired as she enjoyed providing household and cleaning services to her clients, making baked goods for her friends and family, and as a devoted member, attending her local church, Bethel Worship Center in Laurel.

Helen was preceded in death by her father, Sydney Andrews and her sister, Patricia Dyes (Patsy).

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John R. Hawkins, Sr. (Rick); mother, Dottie Andrews of Hurlock; daughter, Julie Knowles and her husband William (Billy) of Millsboro; son, John R. Hawkins, Jr. (Richie) of Seaford; brother, David Andrews and his wife Judy of Hurlock; sister, Bonnie Willings and her late husband Arthur of Sharptown; grandchildren Bobby Knowles and Brittany Knowles, both of Millsboro; great-grandchildren Raylan, Kaelynn, Bella, Gunner, and Bensley; and many nephews and nieces.

On Friday, March 3 a service for friends and family was held at Bethel Worship Center in Seaford.
