Hatton Adams Dameron of Delmar passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in Seaford on Saturday, July 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Aug. 8, 1929 in Hague, Va., a son of the late Edward and Della Dameron and was the youngest son out of six boys and four girls.
Hatton was a Korean War veteran and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was a long-time member of the Delmar VFW Post 8276. He retired after 39 years of service as a market manager for Safeway. After retirement he and his beloved wife Kay decided to head south to Little River, SC where he worked at Quincy’s Steakhouse and Ryan’s Steakhouse before returning to Delmar. After coming home Hatton still wanted to stay busy so he worked as a merchandiser for Pepperidge Farm Cookies alongside of his daughter then merchandised for several years with Keith at Little Debbie.
He is survived by his only child, Kimberly Dameron Meadows (Alvin Foraker) of Seaford; grandchildren, Alicia K. Causey Rodriguez (Orlando) of Salisbury, David E. Webster III (Lauren) of Laurel and Kaitlynn N. O’Connell (Daniel) of Georgetown; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh Brown, Anthony Horsey, and Marlo Anderson, all of Salisbury and Parker Shay Webster of Laurel. He is also survived by his close friend and companion, Margie Foskey of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Jones Dameron who passed in 2004; and five brothers and four sisters.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 17 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Short Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service which begins at 11:30. Interment with military honors will follow at the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock.
