Harrison Hammond of Georgetown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at Acts Manor House in Seaford. He was born in Ocean View, son of the late Edward and Lulu Hammond.

He was a member of Georgetown Ambulance Station #93 and American Legion Post #8 and Odd Fellows. He loved camping and square dancing with the Whirlaways. He loved to travel across the country and internationally. He loved photography and even worked part-time early in his career as a professional photographer. Harrison had many talents in electronics, electrical, and carpentry. As a matter of fact, he built his first home after moving to Georgetown, lived there until moving to the Manor House in Seaford. He retired from the Delaware Army National Guard for 20 years and retired from Nanticoke Hospital as a Biomedical Technical Supervisor. After retiring, he worked part-time at Delaware Technical and Community College.

Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Lulu Hammond; two sisters Violet and Grace and brother Preston; and his wives, Evelyn Hammond and Helen Hammond.

He survived by his wife Madalyn and son, Jerry (Maria) and two grandsons, Jerry, Jr., and Todd.  The family would like to extend special thanks to the caregivers at Acts Manor House and Accent Hospice.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan. 30 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services in Georgetown. Interment was private.
