Gilbert F. Dorman died unexpectedly on Oct. 7, 2022, in Richmond, Va. Gilbert was a son of the late Martha and Granville Dorman, long time residents of Seaford. He is survived by his wife, Roberta of Kilmarnock, Va.; his daughter, Daphne (Jeanie) of New York City; sister, Mrs. Paul Randall (Patricia) of Oakland, Cal.; and brothers Oliver of Newark and Leland of Laughlin, NV.
Gilbert graduated from William C. Jason High School in Georgetown in 1956.
He was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of thirty-two years. Gilbert was very active in his community, a long time member of the local NAACP, and a trustee of his church.
Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.
