Geraldine (Boyce) Taylor of Laurel died Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Harrison House in Georgetown. Born and raised in Laurel, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Phillips) Boyce. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1954 and was employed for more than 50 years at Sussex Trust, Wilmington Trust and County Bank in Laurel and Georgetown.
Geraldine was a member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Laurel. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends and spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid Duke and UConn college basketball fan, enjoyed March Madness and followed the Orioles faithfully. She loved her dog Scooter Shea and cat Bella and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Kevin Taylor and his wife Kathy of Coventry, CT; her daughter Julie Lunn of Frederick, Md.; and her granddaughters Sydney Darrah and husband Vinny and Nikki Lunn and great-grandson Adam, all of Frederick. She is also survived by her nephews, Jeff Lynch of Wilmington and Kile Lynch of Laurel as well as several beloved cousins and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Taylor and her sister Ellen Lynch and brother-in-law Merrill Lynch.
A funeral service will be held at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 600 S. Central Ave., Laurel, on Monday, April 11 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Howard Backus and Father Jim Manion officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church’s columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in Geraldine’s memory may be made to St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, 600 S. Central Ave., Laurel, DE 19956. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
