George W. Bradford, Jr. of Parsonsburg passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 8, 2023.

George was born July 6, 1941 in Willards, son of the late George W. Bradford, Sr. and Ida Mae Evans Bradford.

He graduated from Wicomico High School in 1959. He grew up farming with his father and loved being outdoors and working the land. While farming was his passion, his work ethic was second to none. He ended his agriculture career with the Department of Soil Conservation in Wicomico County for the state of Maryland. He was a member of Rockawalkin Church in Hebron. He was also a member of the Hebron Lions Club and the Rockawalkin Ruritan Club. His passion post-retirement was his membership with the Salisbury Gun Club where he spent many years cultivating friendships and helping where he could.

He is survived by his children, George Michael Bradford of Salisbury, Constance “Connie” Adkins Little (Mike) of Seaford, and Richard “Ricky” David Whaley (Carrie) of Millsboro; grandchildren, Erin (Chris), J.D., Josh, Chris (Deanna), Tana, Ryan, Leslie (Brad), Jessica (Dylan), Megan (Jason), Casey, Amanda (Ross), Payton, and the soon-to-be-born Evan; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Iris Bradford Shockley (Jim) of Salisbury; a niece, Heather Reynolds (Mark); nephew, Russell Shockley (Abby); and a special neighbor, friend, and caregiver, Evelyn Hasson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Geraldine Mary (Adkins) Bradford, who passed in 2020; daughter, Jackie Bradford; son, Donald Lee Adkins; and his beloved dog Sophie.

A visitation for family and friends was held on Friday, May 12 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, and also on Saturday, May 13. A funeral service began on Saturday with Mike Little officiating. Interment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. Following the interment, friends and family gathered at the Rockawalkin Church Community Hall in Hebron.
