Forrest B. Puckham of Laurel passed away on Thursday, April 27 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 7, 1963, to the late Eugene and Hattie Puckham.

He attended schools in the Laurel School District graduating from Laurel Senior High School with the class of 1981. He participated in clubs and played the “forward position” on the varsity boys’ basketball team.    

Upon graduating from high school, he was employed with Johnny Janosik Furniture in Laurel.  Forrest was later employed with (Townsends) Mountaire Farms in Millsboro for almost 40 years. His cancer diagnosis forced him into retirement. 

Forrest was an avid sports fan. You could find him watching NASCAR, horse racing, boxing, basketball, baseball, and especially football. He was a lifelong New York Giants fan.

Forrest leaves memories with his wife of 28 years, Verdine Puckham; son, Dominic (Adele) Hatton; daughters, Ambriah Johnson and Sierra Fountain; five grandchildren, Rayne, Nyla, Nick, Keierra, and Siana; one great-grandson, Isaac, Jr.; one brother, Victor (Iris) Puckham; two sisters, Tammy (John) Williams and Amy (Tyrone) Handy; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Linda) Echols, Joseph Palmer, Rayfield (Sandra) Palmer, Kevin (Shirley) Palmer, Andre Palmer, and Patrick Palmer; sister-in-law, Althea White; aunts, Lorraine Hitchens, Gwendolyn Twine, and Armelia Puckham.
