Edward Joshua Marvil of Laurel passed away on Sept. 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Richard Marvil and Ethel Cooper Marvil. Eddie graduated from the Laurel High School in the class of 1965. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the National Guard. Eddie was a member of Carpenters Local 255, served as a business representative for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Local 2012 in Seaford until he retired in 2006. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle, boating, hunting, fishing, classic cars, and taking tropical vacations. He and his wife also enjoyed meeting Eddie’s high school classmates for lunch every month.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Marvil; son Jeffrey Scott Marvil; daughter Tracey Marvil Pierson (Dale); step-children Angie White (Michael), Judy Lankford (Curtis), and Brian Smith (Angie); 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one nephew Todd Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard Lednum and his sister Virginia “Ginger” Lednum Jones. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25 at the Laurel American Legion Post #19, 12168 Laurel Road, Laurel, Delaware 19956. Contributions may be made in Mr. Marvil’s honor to the Good Ole Boy Foundation, 36111 Pear Tree Road, Millsboro, Delaware 19966 or to L.T.D.A.N.
