Dorcas was born in Logan, WV to Doris and LeRoy (Roy) Osborne on July 9, 1962. She went to high school at Logan High School and graduated in 1980. She was married shortly after graduation and worked tirelessly and lovingly raising her family and providing a warm and caring home for many of her nieces, nephews, and neighborhood kids for years. Once her children were grown she turned her caring attention to the workplace.

During her working career she managed several retail businesses, most focused on serving the community, including Goodwill and Teen Challenge in Seaford. With the same tireless effort she employed raising her family, she served the community, the workers, and the individuals whom the mission served. Dorcas would ultimately be medically forced to retire from the Delaware Department of Corrections where she worked alongside her husband Dan. Throughout her life she loved, mentored, and impacted hundreds with her love, kindness and Christlikeness.

Dorcas is survived by her husband of 42 years, Daniel (Dan) of Bridgeville; sons, LeRoy, Brian, and David; daughter-in-laws, Meg, Jen, and Lora; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and 16 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Roy, and brothers, Daniel and LeRoy (Junebug).

Memorial donations may be made to Delmarva Teen Challenge, 611 3rd and North Street, PO Box 1271, Seaford, DE 19973.

Dorcas, we are grateful that you are basking in the love of Christ, who makes all things new and wipes away all tears, and we look forward to seeing you there one day.
