Donna Ann Johnson, 58, of Seaford, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022, at TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford. She was born April 3, 1964 in Salisbury, a daughter of Gladys J. (Reed) Bridge of Salisbury and the late William Scott Johnson, who passed in 2002.

Donna worked for several years at Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as well as a professional cleaner and as manager of Lakeside Motel. She was an awesome cook, a dog lover, an avid reader, and a wonderful poet, leaving her family with several beautiful poems she wrote. She loved bright colored clothes styled with unique jewelry. Donna will be remembered as energetic and full-of-life. She was a mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, cousin and friend to many. Most of all Donna loved her family and believed in and was grateful for second chances in life.

In addition to her mother Gladys, she is survived by her stepfather, Glynn R. Bridge; children, William “Scott” Matthews, Jessica Ann Matthews, April Mae Matthews and Dennard “Denny” Murray and wife Jessica; many loved grandchildren and a new great-grandson; her longtime companion, Gary Eskridge and his family; sisters, Debra Johnson Webster, Sharon Waters and husband Charles and Sandra Horsey and husband David “Wayne”; step-sisters, Dr. Sharen Bisson and husband Stephen, Gloria Dosch and husband Steven and Glynda Callis; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. She is also survived by her beloved dog, “Sadie.”

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a beloved nephew, Joshua Webster and stepbrother, Michael S. Bridge.

A funeral service to celebrate Donna’s life will be held on Friday, July 8 at 1 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Delmar, where family and friends may visit from noon to 1 p.m.

Interment will follow at Melson’s Cemetery in Delmar.
