Dolores Acker of Laurel and Washingtonville, New York, passed away peacefully in her home on June 6, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on January 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Adele Chevront. Dolores worked as a long-time department manager at Lowe’s and Pergament and served proudly as the Treasurer to the American Legion Post #19. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William Acker; son Craig LeVine and his wife Evelyn; stepson Billy Acker and his wife Barbara; granddaughter Erica Way and her husband David; great-grandsons Brady and Carter Way; sisters June Long, and Carol Lamcellia and her husband Tony. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers George, Paul, and Robert Chevront.

A visitation was held on Wednesday, June 15 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel followed by a celebration of life. Reverend Dean Perdue officiated. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Acker’s honor to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 DuPont Blvd., Georgetown, Delaware 19947. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
