Dennis Norman Bergeron of Delmar passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Feb. 13, 1946 in Salisbury, a son of the late Norman Guy Bergeron and Louise Marie Brittingham Bergeron.

Dennis graduated from Wi-Hi with the class of ’64. Following his graduation, he secured a job at DuPont in Seaford where he retired after 37 years as a master electrician and instrument mechanic. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Salisbury, the Salisbury Moose Lodge 654 and was a patron member of the Virgil Wilson VFW Post 4961 in Seaford, where he enjoyed playing on the shuffleboard league. 

Dennis was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden and woodworking. He was best known for his sense of humor, his giving and caring nature, and making sure anyone who visited him felt like a friend and never left empty-handed.

He is survived by a son, Aaron Bergeron and wife Allison of Delmar; a daughter, Kara Johnson and husband Ken of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Andrew Bergeron (Alison), Austin Bergeron (Alison), Lonnie Bergeron, Damien Bergeron, Karis Freeman (Loagnn), Kenzi Burdell (Jacob) and Kenan Johnson; two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Sawyer Bergeron, and a third expected in December; sisters, Sandra Tyndall (Merrill), Beverly Ennis (John), Gayle Dixon, Vicki Gladden; several nieces and nephews; and a host of close friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Jack Dixon and Terry Gladden.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held privately by the family at a later date.
