Charles T. Chuck Brittingham of Laurel passed away unexpectedly from a tragic house fire on May 14, 2023. He was born on Feb. 17, 1962 in Seaford to Charles and Ellen Jane “EJ” Brittingham. Charles attended Laurel High School and had previously worked for Allen’s Body Shop and Dukes Lumber. Charles was a member of the American Legion Post #19 and enjoyed playing cornhole and shuffleboard with his legion friends.

He was a “Jack of all trades” and a master of none; he was a true “MacGyver.” He loved fishing, woodworking, landscaping the yard, NASCAR racing and watching his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, watching his favorite NFL team the “49ers”, video games, and building model cars.

His most favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and his grand dogs, Jasper and Bear Dog. Charles is survived by his mother, Ellen Jane “EJ” Brittingham; son, Charles “Chuck” Brittingham, Jr. (Ashley); step daughters Amy Trice (Mike Hicks) and Amanda Ruth (Roland); sisters Brenda Brittingham (Robert “Britt”) and Linda Carter (Conrad); the mother of their son, June Tyre; ex-wife and very dear friend Tina Harrold; grandchildren Jace Brittingham and Alyssa Brittingham; step-grandchildren, Devan Trice, Dylan Trice, Gabriel Hicks, and Isabella Hicks; nieces and nephew, Casey Wright, Elizabeth Willin, and Caleb Willin (Stephanie); great niece and nephews, Blair Wright, Jayson Willin, TeShaun Willin, Tiana Willin, Caleb Willin V, and another great nephew on the way.

Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Charles Brittingham; step-father Bobby Coulbourne; and his sister, Ellen Marie Willin.
