Born Sept. 1, 1980, Casey L. Fogel of Laurel was the firstborn child of Larry and Pokim Fogel. Growing up with three younger siblings, Casey was always the voice of reason and a guiding light to anyone she cared for. Always ready to offer up good advice followed by a much needed laugh, Casey would always brighten up a room with her sense of humor and loud and proud laugh.

She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Music was a big part of her life, she could never get enough of it. She’d always speak her mind and let anyone know exactly what she was thinking, making her stand out that much more as a strong and independent individual. Casey attended the Laurel School District and graduated in 1998 as a member of the Honor Society, earning a full scholarship to the University of Delaware where she majored in English. She would later go on to pursue a career in mental healthcare working at Bancroft Neuro Health assisting people with developmental disabilities, further extending her caring and tender heart to the needs of others.

Casey passed away from natural causes with her loving family at her side on June 24. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother Pokim Fogel and is survived by her loving father Larry Fogel and his partner Gloria Lee who loved Casey as her own; also her sisters Stephanie Benton (Eddie Baker), Jessica Fogel (Austin Lewis), and brother Joshua Fogel (Laurie Fogel); and of course, all her nieces and nephews who were the pride and joys of her life that she loved to spoil relentlessly. May she find peace and comfort now and her soul be at rest. Let her be reunited with our beloved mother to always watch over the rest of us. She will be forever in our hearts and will always be missed. We love you Casey.

All services will be held privately for her family. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.hsdfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
