Bonnie Lee Hearn of Laurel passed away on May 28, 2022 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Born in Seaford, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Rose Passwaters. She was retired from the E.I. DuPont Company working in the textile division.
Bonnie was the Past President, Past Vice-President, Treasurer, and Chairman of many committees within the Laurel Fire Department Auxiliary, and served as a member for over 58 years. She enjoyed traveling to Lancaster with her late husband Bill, feeding her birds, especially the hummingbirds, and doing the “search a word” puzzles.
Bonnie is survived by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews that she considered and loved as her grandchildren, Cassidy Elliott, Cooper Elliott, Brad Elliott, Jr., Cameron Elliott, Heather Timmons, and Ryland Elliott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Hearn whom she was married to for over 61 years; and her sisters, Gale Taylor, Rosemary Dukes, Penny Elliott, and Candy Mears.
A visitation was held Monday, June 6 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel. A celebration of life was held at the funeral home with Reverend Timothy Dukes officiating. Interment was held privately. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Hearn’s honor to: Laurel Fire Department Auxiliary, 205 West 10th Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. Arrangements are in the care of the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home in Laurel.
