Betsy B. Carmine of Bridgeville passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Born on Nov. 26, 1948 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd F. and Sara L. (White) Beard.
A native Delawarean, Betsy graduated from Seaford Senior High School and Vocational cosmetology in 1966. She worked in the cosmetology industry and ultimately owned and operated her own salon, Betsy’s Beauty Shoppe, for many years until retiring in 2001 to enjoy being a full-time grandmother, a role that she treasured. Over the course of her career, she met and helped hundreds of people and took great pride in her craft and being a part of her community. Her devotion to her family, however, took precedence above all and the time spent with those she held dear was what she cherished most. Betsy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald L. Carmine; her granddaughter, Hannah L. White; her siblings, Jeanne Klemmens, Mary “Mimi” Quillen, Barbara Widdowson, Lloyd “Skip” Beard, and her nephew, Dana Belote. She is survived by her son, Joseph B. Morris; her daughter, Sara B. White (Randall Wagner); her granddaughters, Elizabeth P. White (Robert Strain), and Sophia White; her siblings, Arinda Belote, Sara “Sally” Johnson, Leona Tull, David Beard, Ellen Messick; her sister-in-law Cynthia “Cinni” Cummings, her trusty rescue dog “Carmine,” her nephew, Marc Belote, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 6 from 2 – 5 p.m., at the VFW Virgil Wilson Post 4961, 9767 Middleford Road in Seaford.
Final care has been entrusted to Watson-Yates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 609 East King Street in Seaford.
