Anna Mae Calloway of Bridgeville passed away on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2022 at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital.

Anna was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Oliver and Anna Bowden. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Betty and Bonnie Bowden and brothers, John, James and Louis Bowden.

Anna worked in retail for Dorzbacks, Fashion Bug and Woolworths in Seaford. But most of all she was a wonderful nurturing homemaker.

Anna was a loyal member of the Stein Hwy. Church of God for many years and loved the Lord with all her heart. She became a member of the Laurel Exchange Club in 1991 and soon became president in 1994. One of the most memorable highlights of her life was being an extra in the movie “Wedding Crashers” along with raising her three daughters and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed shopping in thrift stores and making jewelry and crafts. Anna was a truly genuine loving person who cared for everyone and always left an enduring impression.

At age 17 Anna married the love of her life, David Lee Calloway. This past January marked 60 years of marriage. She is also survived by daughters, Ronda Morris (Alan), Fawn Calloway, Sheri Donovan (Walter); grandchildren, Amanda and Toby Donovan; great-grandchildren Saul and Asher; sisters Ruth Bowden and Connie Matthews; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at the Victory Tabernacle Church of God in Laurel. Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
