Annabel Ward Cordrey of Laurel passed into the Lord’s hands on Nov. 10, 2025. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Dora Ward and grew up in Laurel. She had three siblings: Donald Ward, Joan Ward Smart, and George Ward.
Furthermore, she was happily married to Carrol Cordrey for 50 years, who passed away in 1997. They had two sons, Kenneth Cordrey of Delmar and Mike Cordrey, who passed away in 2023. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Annabel was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Church in Laurel from infancy until her passing and was a member of many charitable organizations throughout her lifetime. A viewing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22 from noon-1 p.m. at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, Delaware 19956. The funeral service will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home. Pastor Rebecca Rollins will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL 60601.
