The Downtown Seaford Association has voted to have Bill Bennett as its Grand Marshall for the 2025 Annual Christmas Parade.
Bennett was born and raised in Seaford. He graduated from Seaford High School and then enlisted in the Marines.
Bill married his wife Donna and they raised their two daughters in Seaford.
He joined the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department in 1979 and served three years as chief. Bennett was also the VP/COO of Harley-Davidson in Seaford, Rehoboth and Ocean City for 18 years. He was elected president of the Eastern Harley-Davidson Dealers Association and represented the dealers at the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon in Las Vegas.
He also served on the Seaford City Council and as mayor. Bennett worked 24 years in the electric department, retiring this year as the Director of Electric.
