Virginia Ellen Joseph passed away peacefully at home with family on Aug. 27, 2023. She was born on April 28, 1932 in Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Alonzo Robison and Mary Robinson Robison.
Virginia, or “Ginny” as everyone called her, was a sweet soul, loving and kind. She worked for over 20 years in the Central Elementary School Cafeteria, and she also worked at the Manor House for many years. After retiring she spent her time enjoying family and friends and taking bus tours and trips. She loved being mom-mom at her daughter Kim’s home daycare for many years. She was a longtime devoted member of Blades United Methodist Church and loved her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Joseph Sr.; her parents, Mary Mildred Robinson Jester and Alonzo Robison; stepfather, Elmer Jester; stepmother, Rachel Robison; brothers, Gregory Jester, Wayne Jester, Ellery Jester; and a sister Yvonne Wallace.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly D. Baughman and a beloved son-in-law, Richard L. Baughman; sons, James E. Joseph, and George L. Joseph Jr.; a sister, Phyllis Conner; a brother, Jeffrey Jester; granddaughters, Trista N. Baughman and Shaylah B. Baughman; great-grandchildren, Grayson Stelzig, Brinley and Kinsley Hitchens, and many other beloved family members.
Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 1 at Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford. Interment was held at Blades Cemetery immediately following funeral services.
