Donna Lea Causey of Delmar peacefully passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Sept. 23, 1940 and was the daughter of the late Harold Dutton and Helen Parker.

She graduated from Delmar High School in 1958, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth D. Causey. Following high school, she went on to earn her Associates Degree at Goldey-Beacom College then worked for Firestone Plastics for 29 years, retiring in 1999. Donna was a member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church and the Delmar Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.

In 2003, Donna and Ken started to spend their winters in Arcadia, Fla. where they made countless friends and even more memories. Donna loved to shop. So much so that for ten years, she orchestrated a fashion show for their community in Florida and there wasn’t a department store that didn’t know her by name. Donna also loved to travel. She and Ken have been all over the country with their close friends. After 15 years of enjoying the sunshine state, Donna was ready to be home year-round with her grandchildren and later, great-grandchildren. Although, that didn’t stop her from being the social butterfly that she was, spending every Wednesday playing cards with her closest girlfriends.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Causey; her two sons, Steve Causey (Kim), Kevin Causey (Cindy); four grandchildren, Ryan Causey (Jenna Keefer), Kasie Spindler (Andy), Hunter Causey (Marshall Wells), Zach Causey; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Kayleigh, Mia, Brianne, a great-grandson due in June; brother, Ed Dutton; brother-in-law, Jim Hitchens; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her step-father, Albert Parker; step-mother, Phyllis Parker; sister, Nancy Hitchens and sister-in-law, Janet Dutton.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 26 at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 27 at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Delmar, which will be open to all friends and family.
