Wayne E. Milligan, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Dec. 16, 2022 due to complications from COVID pneumonia. He was born on June 12, 1946 in Upland, PA. He graduated from Seaford Senior High School in 1964. On May 14, 1966 he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jean Jennette. They were happily married for 56 and a half years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.

He was a true patriot who served in the Army National Guard achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He owned Wayne’s BP which also sponsored a softball team that he was very proud of. They won many Mid-Atlantic Championships. He was also the owner of Seaford Taxi for many years.  He worked at DuPont as a spin operator for 18 years. When he retired from there, he drove for Preston and CBL Trucking until he bought his own dump trucks and started Wayne’s Dump Truck Service, which he owned for many years. He then managed Odd Fellows Cemetery until his passing. 

He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and the NRA. He was very active in the Seaford Little League where he spent many years as a volunteer umpire and groundskeeper. He was saved a few years ago and was an active member of Seaford Wesleyan Church (The Ark). He also played drums in a band called Silver Threads. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. He was also very gifted with his hands and could fix or build anything.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Berniece and Emerson Milligan; his mother and father-in-law, James and Nora Jennette, baby boy Milligan and a sister-in-law, Shirley Eskridge. He is survived by his loving wife Betty Jean Milligan; a daughter Wendy (Steve) Iglesias of Miami, FL; a son Wayne (Wendy) Milligan of Plymouth, IN;  four grandchildren, Robbie (Jennifer) Iglesias, Michael (Rhoda) Iglesias, Brittany Iglesias all of Miami, FL, and Brandon Milligan of Cincinnati, OH;  two great-grandchildren, Sadie and Brandon Iglesias of Miami, FL; a brother, Jay (Caroline) Milligan; a sister, Linda (Mike) Gunson; four brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Patty) Jennette, Robert (Joyce) Jennette, Donnie (Tina) Jennette, Tommy Jennette; and one sister-in-law, Dottie (Clarence) Friedel.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Cranston’s Funeral Home in Seaford. Friends may also visit Friday, Dec. 23 at the Seaford Wesleyan Church (The Ark) from noon to 1 p.m. with funeral services immediately following.
