Chester Harold Porches III from Seaford sadly passed away on Dec. 5, 2022 in the comfort of his own home. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Chester was born Feb. 27, 1974. He was a Seaford native and graduated from Seaford High School in 1993. He was an avid fisherman and loved the great outdoors. He spent as much time as he could on his boat cruising the Nanticoke River, enjoying catfishing and bass fishing. Trolling on the bay with his friends was always a good time. One of his favorite pastimes was shark fishing the Canyons and the Assateague seashore.
Chester was also talented in creating custom fishponds, often to be stocked with colorful varieties of Koi fish.
For over 30 years he worked at the family business, Chet’s Auto Body, in Laurel, DE. There he did collision repair and refinishing. Although he was proud of the work he did, his motto was “born to fish forced to work.”
He is survived by his mother Marilyn Porches; father Chester Porches Jr. and stepmother Brandi Porches; his siblings Mark Porches and Mary “Skeeter” Calloway; brother-in-law Brian Calloway; nephews Ian Calloway and Nate Calloway; his girlfriend Tammy Stickles; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Services will be held at Cranston Funeral Home in Seaford on Dec. 17, visitation at noon, service is at 1 p.m.
