William Francis Obier passed away on Nov. 13, 2022, at his home on River’s End Drive in Seaford. After a brief illness he succumbed and went willingly to his maker.
He was the son of Sidney K. Obier and Bernice Truitt of Seaford. Bill retired from Delmarva Power as a superintendent of construction and maintenance from Salisbury. He began his career with them in 1962 in the Harrington office and then held several other positions in Exmore, Va. and Cambridge, Md. before going to the Salisbury office which he retired from.
Bill, in addition to his job of being a husband and father, held many other interests. He was an avid reader as well as a golfer, he enjoyed both very much. His greatest joy outside of his family and other interests, was his participation in several Barbershop choirs over the last many years. He enjoyed the competitions and the comraderie of the practice sessions as well as the great friends he gained along the way.
Bill lost his wife of 64 years, Norma, in 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Sharon Marie Obier Myer and Martha Ellen Carmine. He also has his grandchildren, Jordan Marie Crockett and Gregory Trent Wheatley as well as two great-grandchildren, Ella Marie Crockett and Wyatt Scott Crockett who were his pride and joy.
Graveside services were held on Nov. 17 at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Oak Grove in Seaford.
